Thorpe Park Trademark question?

In many countries a trademark that is "primarily merely a surname" cannot be registered and if it forms part of a compound mark, then that portion that is the surname cannot be effectively enforced, by itself. However, the combinations "Thorpe Park" and "Thorpe Amusement Park" could have separable trademark rights, primarily because of the differences in the services and the respective markets, advertising channels, and customers. Obtain proper legal counsel prior to investing any substantial funds or effort into your plans.
