Is there any reasonable argument for teaching creationism in a science clroom?

I mean a reasonable argument. Keep in mind that a theory must be supported by observable evidence. There is no observable evidence supporting creationism. Therefore it is not a theory, it is just an idea which has no place in a science clroom. If seems pretty simple to me. Why is the U.S.A the laughing stock of the world for even debating this issue?
