Should I get a CHI flat iron or a Solia? 1" or 1 1/4" ? Which is better quality?

I used my daughter's CHI flat iron and loved how quickly I could straighten my hair. Although it seemed to slip from my hand easily, but not a big deal. A lot of the flat iron reviews say that the flat irons don't last very long.....like as little as one year. I think we would all like them to last longer than that! The Solia review rated it higher than the CHI. Anybody have any first hand knowledge about either? Thanks =)
