What would best my best major to hone writing skills?

I already have a well paying career and would like to finish my degree and learn to write (I'd like to do some writing on the side) I currently work in a blue collar profession which I do well. I believe I write fairly well but I need to sharpen and learn skills. I was thinking english, journalism maybe even philosophy bc it interests me and I figure there's lots of papers, any comments and suggestions please?
