How can I define understanding the following ques: discuss the roles&responsibilities of a journalist.?

Hi, really need some help because its for some uni work, however i am to remain impartial but also relate it to stories i have previously written, these are a Council, Court and Own story and my experience of writing them. I also need to include a general idea of how i am going to tackle this...HELP!
