I have a physics question on water droplets transferring energy into heat...?

If room temperature water dripped steadily and slowly every 2-3 seconds onto a metal knife placed upright in a cup half its size, all night long, would the metal (at the point where the water drops) heat up due to the energy transfer? (...meaning, heat builds up on the knife from the work/energy caused by the constant drop of water)
